Our Beverly store (1818 W 99th) is closed for repairs and the installation of the new cafe. Lincoln Square (5500 N Western) will be having a Flash Sale August 5-9 then closing for a short summer break. Both locations will reopen on Wednesday, September 2. At that time we will continue social distancing practices and other safety protocols advised by the CDC and the City of Chicago.

Our Lincoln Square (5500 N Western) and Beverly (1818 W. 99th) locations are now both open Wednesday - Sunday from 10am to 6pm (unless the weather is really nasty).
Timed entry is no longer required but please do wear your mask and keep a safe distance from other shoppers.

Online classes are available on our CLASSES page. Most are free. Our BLOG has great information from our staff and guest collaborators on how to garden successfully in Chicago. You can also have a chat with a virtual "Ask the Expert" if you were too busy this strange spring to get your landscaping or garden project off the ground. It's ok, fall is a great time for these activities, too. And we're here to help.

Timed entry and other protocols such as social distancing and everyone wearing masks will go through the end of June, and perhaps beyond, depending on recommendations from health officials.

Our Beverly location is now officially open (Yay!) with safety protocols in place. Namely, we're limiting the number of people in the plant yard/store at any one time via sign up for timed entry. You can do that HERE. Timed entry and other protocols such as social distancing and everyone wearing masks will go through the end of May, and perhaps beyond, depending on recommendations from health officials.
We will continue curbside and delivery from our Lincoln Square store. We are adding more products based on what's ready to plant and we're really excited to share them with you.
Curbside will start in Beverly after May 14.

The Governor has stated that garden centers can open for business on May 1 with appropriate social distancing and everyone wearing masks.
For the safety of our staff and customers, we're going to continue operating with curbside and contact-less delivery vs. being open at our Lincoln Square (5500 N Western) location. Our indoor space is too tiny to maintain social distancing beyond our team and the protective products we'd need to sanitize after each customer visit are not available. At this location, we feel safest for our team and our customers to continue the course we've been on.
Our Beverly location is opening May 9 with limited, timed entry. They will also have curbside. Deliveries will continue to operate out of our Lincoln Square location. The space configuration (and indoor space) at the Beverly location are much more generous for social distancing and the team feels we will give this approach a tentative try as we open this new location. And we may change our minds if we feel our staff or our customers are in danger.

Our mission is to remove every barrier to your gardening success.
And we feel that mission is even more important in the light of COVID-19.
- Since our business is considered essential (agriculture, landscaping) we are operating on a limited basis to maintain perishable inventory and deliver food and other plants, food garden supplies and related materials.
- We will be offering contact-less delivery Friday through Sunday or by appointment for large orders.
- We will be offering curbside pick-up Friday and Saturday or by appointment for large orders.
- No one other than staff and delivery drivers are allowed on premises.

Most of our staff is working from home to offer online support for pre-ordering of vegetable plants and food garden building materials. As well as offer online consultations for landscaping, food gardening, gardening with kids, etc. (You can learn more about consulting services HERE.)

In-store we are working on two person shifts for receiving, order processing and pick-up. There is one person in the store and one person in the yard at any given shift. They are maintaining maximum social distance. Each shift ends with disinfecting everything.
Delivery drivers work solo - they come to the yard, get premade orders and deliver to you contact-less. You’ll receive a text from your driver asking where to put your order. They wear gloves. They are also, still, friends and family who are unemployed from their regular jobs due to the pandemic.
